Description
Cone Health is seeking a Molecular Imaging Technologist to perform high-quality PET/CT and other molecular imaging studies that support accurate diagnosis and treatment. In this on-site role, you will prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals, follow strict radiation safety and infection control protocols, and operate advanced imaging equipment within a collaborative, patient-centered team. Responsibilities include verifying patient identity and history, optimizing image quality, documenting procedures in the electronic health record, and participating in quality control and continuous improvement initiatives. Prepare, handle, and administer radiopharmaceuticals safely following radiation safety protocols
Verify patient identity, obtain clinical history, and explain procedures to ensure patient comfort and cooperation
Operate, calibrate, and troubleshoot molecular imaging equipment and related software
Assess image quality, perform basic image processing, and submit studies for physician interpretation
Maintain accurate patient records, documentation, and exam logs in the electronic health record
Follow infection control, radiation safety, and environmental health policies at all times
Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and other clinicians to coordinate patient care
Participate in quality control, equipment performance checks, and continuous improvement activities
Support training of new staff or students as needed and contribute to departmental initiatives
PET/CT imaging
Nuclear medicine procedures
Radiopharmaceutical preparation and administration
Radiation safety and ALARA principles
Image acquisition and quality control
Use of PACS and RIS/EHR systems
Patient positioning and immobilization
IV placement and injection techniques
Equipment calibration and troubleshooting
Regulatory compliance (Joint Commission, NRC or state)

Registered or registry-eligible Nuclear Medicine Technologist (e.g., ARRT(N) or NMTCB)
State licensure as required by North Carolina regulations
